　　之所以取名《兰卡徐静蕾》，是因为当地人都把“斯里兰卡”简称为“兰卡”，听上去也更亲切迷人。写真集以时间顺序展现了徐静蕾在斯里兰卡六天紧张的行程。她和工作人员一行先是抵达海边小城尼干布，第一站就是出乎他们意料的“大象孤儿院”，而后依次走访了有“第二首都”之称的波隆纳鲁沃、Sigiriya城堡、古城丹布勒、康提的皇家植物园、锡兰、纽日利亚、班托塔，最后回到首府科伦坡。行程几乎完整地展现了斯里兰卡，这个旅游业作为第四大产业的国家最值得驻足的风景。　　同时，徐静蕾在这本写真集中按捺不住地展示了自己的一大个人爱好——摄影。沿途，除了被摄影师拍摄外，她更是胸前挂着架照相机，拍下了最感动她的异域风情。其中最能打动读者的，相信是她镜头中的孩子，就像她的写真集中所说：“印象最深的就是兰卡的人民，他们清澈善良单纯的眼睛，在我们短短的行程里一直伴随着我们，给这个娇小美丽的国家增添了巨大的魅力，……那些温醇的眼神恐怕也是来自于有着笃定信仰的内心，这是在我所去过的国家中没有看到过的，因而觉得十分珍贵。”　　和之前两本写真集(分别在意大利和越南拍摄)不同，兰卡这本没有以往那么多的文字，加总起来也只有近5000字，而且是在“拖到不能再拖”的情况下完成的。然而无论是照片中徐静蕾的眼神，还是她为数不多的文字，都流淌着一种不可言说的坚定和宽容。也许这就是两部电影给她的历练和改变吧。　　作为从演员转型导演的成功范例，徐静蕾看待事物的角度是与众不同的。当她亲眼看到被海啸肆虐后的兰卡人民的家园后，在写真集中写道：“那些至今我们都不知道为何形成的据说是由造物主的鬼斧神工而造就的奇观异景，……有时的确是美丽的，的确是令人伫足的，然而我们为什么要那么热爱它呢，……我宁愿赞美我们这些顽强而有幸生存下来的生命们，而不是一味的赞美它，或者献媚的说：大自然，我爱你，我多么多么的热爱你。”　　在徐静蕾一行结束拍摄回国不久，中国到斯里兰卡就开通了直航的线路，徐静蕾说：希望能为兰卡海啸后的重建工作尽自己的一份微薄之力。
